Dragon FliesI have a real fondness for dragonflies. When the hottest days of summer first begin, the dragonflies hatch and become constant companions wherever you go. When alive, they offer fleeting glimpses of color and motion in a seemingly random pattern of flight. The lightest breeze easily disrupts their travels. A dead dragonfly held up close seems more fantastic than any Hollywood special effects monster. Their wings seem too delicate for flight. The gigantic eyes, body segments, and vein patterns in the wings are meticulously detailed. To an artist, the colors are like those of a precious gem.
