About the Artist

David Simcox

Dave Simcox is an artist-illustrator living in Chico, California. He is a self-taught artist drawing upon skills developed in a landscape planning and design education. He holds a Ph.D. in renewable natural resources management and has been a professor at California State University, Chico since 1986. He is currently doing research dealing with the Arts and Crafts revival, education, and sustainability. His wife, Anna, owns and operates ART ETC., a framing business and art gallery in downtown Chico. Anna and Dave live on a small farm and walnut orchard outside of town with their three boys and numerous dogs, cats and chickens. Dave was raised in Long Beach in Southern California and attributes his interest in Arts and Crafts design to his exposure with the Greene and Greene neighborhoods of Long Beach and Pasadena.
